Yongji Dong joined the Paulson Institute as Director of Government Affairs in March 2017. In this role, he coordinates and manages the Institute’s relations with key Chinese government agencies to support the Institute’s various programs designed to promote US-China relations and sustainable economic development in China.

Yongji has deep and extensive government affairs expertise having worked in this area for almost 20 years. Prior to joining the Institute, he held increasingly senior Government Affairs positions in top multinational companies such as IBM, GE, BP, Jaguar Land Rover, and mostly recently GCL Group, a leading Chinese clean energy company. Yongji started his career in the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, where he worked for 11 years.

Yongji holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Jilin University and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lancaster University, UK.
