On Wednesday, February 5, over seven inches of snow covered the Chicago area. The weather was certainly frightful, but the snow and bitter cold wasn’t enough to prevent the Paulson Institute from hosting its first Year of the Horse Celebration.

The Institute hosted students from across the University, including the College, the Booth School of Business, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the various graduate divisions, along with faculty and University staff members, at the Institute’s Hyde Park office on the University of Chicago campus.

Guests at the event dined on fried rice, barbecue pork buns, shrimp dumplings, and fried pot stickers from nearby Chinatown. Institute Fellow Damien Ma presented on the wide range of opportunities available to students, including summer internships and fellowships for both undergraduate and graduate students, and predoctural fellowships for PhD candidates. Other members of the Institute team were on hand to inform students of our mission and discuss ways to get involved with the Institute.
