AJ Cortese is a Senior Research Associate at MacroPolo, the think tank at the Paulson Institute. In this role, AJ conducts research and produces informative analysis covering China’s digital economy, technology sectors, and related policy dynamics within a US-China context using qualitative and quantitative methodologies and tools.
Previously, Mr. Cortese worked in Beijing as an analyst for tech media and research firm 36Kr Global where he focused on Chinese technology and investment trends and their influence on the APAC region more broadly. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at ICR Inc. providing investor relations consulting services to listed Chinese tech companies. AJ holds a BA in economics from Fordham University and speaks fluent Mandarin.
