Statement of Henry M. Paulson, Jr. on US Rejoining the Paris Agreement

I commend President Biden for his leadership and wisdom in making climate change a priority for his administration. Rejoining the Paris Agreement on Day One is a powerful statement that the Biden administration is prepared to lead at home and abroad on this vitally important issue.

Climate change is the most certain threat to our planet, our people and their livelihoods. Our only hope for turning the tide on this crisis is working in global partnership with governments, the private sector, and civil society to develop sound policies, promote technological advancement, and drive change. Today’s action is a leap in the right direction.
