Statement of Henry M. Paulson, Jr., on China’s Commitment to Become Carbon Neutral

As the world’s largest emitter of carbon, China’s commitment to become carbon neutral by 2060 is a significant step toward addressing climate change. It would be revolutionary if China is able to match its ambitions with actions. I have long believed that global issues, like climate change, can best be addressed if the US and China can work together. I urge other world leaders, including the United States, to make similar commitments to address climate change, which I believe is the biggest risk facing the world today.
