Thanks to the Company’s tremendous contributions in advancing PV-generated electricity towards grid-parity and in promoting the adoption of solar energy, Trina Solar was selected as the first solar industry shaper worldwide in the Global Growth Company Community of the World Economic Forum in 2010. In 2014, Trina Solar’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Jifan Gao was elected the first Chairman of the newly-established China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA). In December 2015, Mr. Gao was elected a Co-Chairman of the Global Solar Council. At the G20 Hangzhou Summit in 2016, Trina Solar actively participated in both the G20 and B20 dialogues, and presented a proposal on behalf of the Global Solar Council to the 20 national leaders that advocated for the attention and support needed for solar energy and PV industry development.
The Trina Solar State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology is the first laboratory accredited by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. The laboratory so far has filed over 1000 patents and broken 15 world records in PV cell and module efficiency and output.
