Our Council companies collaborate on projects, research and advocacy to encourage more smart and sustainable urban designs, increased energy efficiencies – particularly in buildings, and ecological protection. Specifically, we aim to:
- Advance sustainable cities across China and incorporate member companies’ expertise
- Advocate for effective policies and actions in planning and development of sustainable cities
- Highlight best practices through case studies and research
Sustainable Urban Planning Principles
In 2016, the Council developed a set of Sustainable Urban Planning Principles, to ensure that urban development projects supported by the Council meet a common set of rigorous sustainability standards, from planning through execution. The Principles are intended to offer a guide for sustainable urbanization development throughout China and are applicable both to larger-scale regional developments as well as smaller parcel projects. The Principles were developed in collaboration with our Council member companies, the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, and the Shenzhen Institute of Building Research Co., Ltd.
