A New Framework for U.S.-China Economic Relations.
Henry M. Paulson, Jr.
We are supporting a next generation of scholars and leaders through our predoctoral fellowships, student fellowships, and internships in China.
The Paulson Institute’s summer internship programs offer two distinct opportunities to University of Chicago students. Urban Sustainability Internswork alongside Institute staff in China on programs that promote sustainable development in Chinese cities. Conservation Interns will be placed in conservation-related non-governmental organizations in China. Internships are offered for the summer term, in partnership with the university’s Beijing Center in China, or in some circumstances at our University of Chicago campus office.
The application window for summer 2013 internships is closed; students interested in internships during the summer of 2014 should complete the form below for more information.

The Paulson Institute’s Predoctoral Fellowships in Contemporary Chinese Studies support the fieldwork in China of University of Chicago Ph.D. candidates, principally in the social sciences, business, public policy, and law. The Institute's 2012 class of fellows included a sociologist and a labor economist. Predoctoral Fellows are considered for a quarter-term fellowship and are selected on a rolling basis.
The Paulson Institute recruits Student Fellows to work on Institute projects and programs. Current Student Fellows conduct research on Chinese investment in the United States and are writing in-depth business case histories. Eligible applicants should be enrolled undergraduate or Masters students at the University of Chicago with an interest in the social sciences, including public policy, economics, political science, business history, and/or contemporary China. Student Fellows are selected on a rolling basis.
The Paulson Institute student researcher opportunities are available only for University of Chicago undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree candidates. For general inquiries, click here.
